FAQs
Where do you ship to?

We ship Trach Savers® all over the world, if you don’t see your shipping quote feel free to email us and we will get you the least expensive shipping quote possible. The Groomer’s Wall® due to its weight and size is usually restricted to the lower 48 US states, but we are willing to work with you to find an affordable shipping option.

What size do Trach Savers fit?

Small is made for the small toy breeds and some smallish cats.

Medium is for the small breeds up to say a chubby Corgi or a Sheltie and bigger cats.

Large was made for a standard poodle sized dog.

Extra Large is for Great Pyrenees, a large Bouvier and a Great Dane. *The swivel clip has been tested and will break at 300lbs of pressure, so it won’t hold a small horse.

Fabric version is right between the small and medium sizes.

Can you cut a Trach Saver or can a dog chew through them?

You can cut them but not easily, and yes if allowed a dog can even chew through a steel cable harness.

How do you clean a Trach Saver?

Simply spray them with disinfectant and wipe down or rinse them in the tub. The material the Vinyl Trach Saver® is made of (TPU) naturally resists bacteria, chemicals and odors.

Is there a weight limit to a Trach Saver?

All Trach Savers have been built to withstand 98 pounds of pull. The swivel clasp has been tested to 300 pounds of force before breaking.

What makes a Trach Saver work?

All Trach Savers® have been built to withstand 98 pounds of pull. The swivel clasp has been tested to 300 pounds of force before breaking.

According to an industry-leading Veterinarian, the Trach Savers® holds the pet in a way that is not threatening and is so secure that the pet tends to stop resisting due to an endorphin release that has a calming effect on the pet. So it doesn’t choke the pet and makes them realize that resistance is futile.”

What is the difference between the fabric and vinyl Trach Savers?

The Original Fabric Trach Saver was our first release. It is economical yet works just like the vinyl one (I personally prefer how the fabric one holds cats). However, it is easier to cut, and it must be washed like the other leashes you use.

The Vinyl Trach Saver is TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane). It is flexible like rubber but strong like plastic. I naturally resist bacteria, chemicals, odors, and abrasions. It is more cut-resistant and much stronger.

How is the Groomer’s Wall supposed to help my back?

It keeps the pet you are grooming closer to you so that you aren’t leaning over to do the grooming. It also allows you to stand in a more natural and ergonomic upright stance, reducing pressure on your lower back, middle back, neck, and shoulders.

What does the Groomer’s Wall do besides help my back?

It keeps the pet closer to you, of course, but it also has a calming effect on the pet, especially older, senile, blind, squirmy, and young, fearful pets. It blocks out most of the rest of the room to the pet so they don’t feel threatened. Cats and bunnies especially appreciate the security of the wall. Most dogs will lean against the wall just a little to give themselves a feeling of security; imagine yourself on a high platform without having something to hold on to.

Does the Groomer’s Wall only work on little dogs?

Absolutely not. Most groomers don’t take the Groomer’s Wall® off their table for anything. Simply loosen the two clamps and slide the wall back and forth on the table to best fit the dog you are grooming, then retighten the clamps. Imagine never having a large dog step off the back of the table again.

How do I know what size Groomer’s Wall I need?

As you face your table from the position you normally groom, measure it from left to right. The 36-inch Wall will fit a 33- to 39-inch table, the 42-inch Wall will fit a 39- to 45-inch table, and the 48-inch Wall will fit a 44- to 50-inch table.

Will the clamps for the Groomer’s Wall fit my table?

The two clamps provided will open to accommodate a table 6 inches thick. If your table is thicker than 6 inches, you can acquire clamps from any good hardware supply store to accommodate your needs.

Why are the hinges so stiff and difficult to operate on the Groomer’s Wall?

Most likely, they are dry and in need of a little oil; it works wonders. I opted for a more heavy-duty hinge in the design, so it takes a little while for them to “break in,” but they will get easier with a little use. Any oil can be used, including WD-40, clipper oil, or any other type of oil.

Do the clamps come with the Groomer’s Wall

Yes, two 6-inch quick clamps are supplied with each Groomer’s Wall.

Do I have to use the clamps on the Groomer’s Wall?

YES! The HDPE that the Wall is made of is naturally slippery, and the pet you are grooming could be injured if it is allowed to move around. Please use the clamps.

Can I paint the Groomer’s Wall?

I have seen a Groomer’s Wall painted, and it looked nice, but it will peel. The HDPE that it is made of is a closed-cell polyurethane that won’t allow the permanent adhesion of dyes, paints, permanent markers, etc.

Why wouldn’t I just use a piece of wood?

My early prototypes were made of wood but eventually absorbed odors, stains, and, I assume, bacteria and worse. I even painted and stained a couple of versions, but the same problems existed. The Groomer’s Wall is made of the same type of material that commercial kitchens use and the cutting boards in your home are made of.

How do I clean the Groomer’s Wall?

We recommend spraying it with a commercial disinfectant, wiping it clean, or even washing it in your grooming tub. Bleach can be used and will not harm the Groomer’s Wall, but it may discolor the name tag and hinges.
